The cozy protection of an umbrella during a down poor is like feeling the warmth of an electric blanket on a cold snowy day.

KMD2398 Busy Mom (Nature landscape painting in oil) by Kit Hevron Mahoney

While walking my dog Farley at the park last spring, we came upon this Mama duck trying to keep her ducklings swimming in the same direction. I can't believe I was lucky enough to be carrying my camera on the same day they floated by.

I love summer but welcome the brilliance of fall. It seems as though the summer flies by and before you know it a hint of the coming season shows up in the landscape. This one tree was starting to turn yellow. Otherwise, this street scene could of been a summer one.

This brilliantly colored scene is from a picture taken by my friend Pat on one of our many photographic journeys. We take so many pictures that I never seem to find the time to sort through all of them but Pat found this one and sent it to me to paint a few years ago. I finally interpreted it on canvas!
