Coreopsis

Another little one - 5x5. I've been drying these in the oven - as low as possible for the temp - so these will dry. Nothing like a fresh baked batch of paintings!
I like this name, Coreopsis. I'm sure there is probably a Greek goddess with that name. It seems that many of our names and words are derived from the name of a Greek god or goddess. I love it.

KMP5026 Garden Path

This colorful spring path was found at the Denver Botanic Gardens here in Denver. The gardens are such a gift to a person as myself who loves flowers, loves painting flowers and never makes time to grow her own!

Italy Umbrella Acrylic 7 x 5

$100.00 + $10.00 S/H

This was in the little town of Cinque Terre Italy. I had just arrived and couldn't take pictures fast enough. The light was spectacular and everything I looked at made me want to throw up my easel and paint on the spot.

KMD2335 Iris Field by Kit Hevron Mahoney

Yes, you did see this composition the other day, but not this one. This was another study done for my painting class but this one had the original white linen background whereas, the other day it was toned with an orange background. It is fun to see what a difference a background tone makes for the same painting. Each has its own merits.

KMP5018 Daisies on the Fence by Kit Hevron Mahoney

Here is another small spring pastel painting. It feels like spring here now that we had a huge spring snowstorm leaving us lots of much needed moisture! The storm dumped at least of foot of very wet snow here in Denver, which will result in lots of beautiful flowers popping up this week.

KMD2333 North Park Vista by Kit Hevron Mahoney

I am thrilled with this little painting. It was a quick study demo that I did for a painting class I am teaching. I am having such fun with my students as they are so enthusiastic and passionate about learning to express themselves on canvas. Their questions and solutions keep me fresh in my approach to painting. The scene is from North Park Colorado in early July when the wild Iris are brightening up the fields.

Almost Home Acrylic 6 x 6

This scene reminds me of my childhood when I was read stories about being all safe and warm in my house when it was cold and chilly outside. I imagined that this car with its passengers were almost home to be comforted the blanket of home life.

Spring Fresh Acrylic 6 x 6

$100.00 + $10.00 S/H

In our modern times we tend to make our clothes smell spring time fresh by adding fragrance to our washing machines. So how wonderful to get the real deal on this spectacular day with the brilliant sun shine and the fragrant spring flowers. I could just imagine how wonderful it would be to put on a clean shirt touched by mother nature.

KMD2328 Stairs to the Sun by Kit Hevron Mahoney
